In real life, three weeks from the date of this game on May 6, Lee will strike out 16 Braves for a career high but at this point his high is 13 which was set in 2010 in a start with Texas during his half season in Arlington. |

Cliff Lee retired 12 batters on strikeouts at Nationals Park where the
Philadelphia Phillies beat the Washington Nationals 5 to 2.
Lee(1-1) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He didn't allow much, just 5
hits and 1 walk in 7 innings. Philadelphia had 9 hits for the night while
Washington had 5.
Jose Contreras earned the save, his 1st. Jordan Zimmermann(0-1) ended up with
the loss. His ERA increased from 2.31 to 3.57 as he allowed 4 runs in 6
innings.
Lee was asked about his big strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd
when you rack up these numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running
tally in the stands, everything gets real still and quiet. Just strange -
but it's nice to be able to take the crowd out of the game.'
